Kano: Wife of Information Director Murdered 10 Days After Wedding

Tragedy struck yesterday in Kano when unknown assailants strangled to death Hajiya Hadiza Usman, the wife of the Director of Information in the Kano State Ministry of Information and Sports.  They had only been married for 10 days.
Confirming the incident, the spokesman of the Kano State Police Command, ASP Majiya, said that some suspects had been taken into custody.
Meanwhile, Alhaji Usman Yakasai, the husband of the deceased, has disclosed that the assailants broke into the home between 10 and 11 on Tuesday morning, and strangled his wife to death.  Hadiza, 21, was alone in the house at the time.
Investigations into the murder are continuing.
