Drama, as Majek Fashek storms COSON awards night

A MILD drama ensued at the  Oriental hotel, Lekki, Lagos, venue of the just concluded  Song Award organised by the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) last Saturday night when Nigeria’s reggae legend and guitarist, Majek Fashek   stormed the place to thrill his fans once again after years of being missing on stage.
Clad in rugged jersey and jacket with a brown cap, Majek who has been incapacitated for a long time now arrived the venue some minutes to the end of the event and hell was let loose. Shouts of ‘the Rainmaker’  rented the air as he moved from one end of the expansive hall to another, greeting and hugging some of his contemporaries whom he has not seen for  years. Interestingly, Majek’s song, “Send Down the Rain” won the best song of the 1980s at the event.
Even though, his sight evoked sympathy, some of the guests who were familiar with Majek’s ordeal  could not believe their eyes as the Rainmaker  was virtually in high spirit. Still looking shabby and frail, Majek bubbled with life while the event lasted.

Upon spotting highlife maestro, Victor Uwaifo who was one of the dignitaries that graced the awards night, Majek immediately prostrated before him and later, requested to perform on stage. But the audience would not allow him to do so as they  wanted him to close the event.
After Iyanya’s ‘erotic performance’, Majek mounted the stage  and took the audience in a musical voyage. He  reeled out some of his evergreen songs to the delight  of the audience. When he sang ‘ Send Down the Rain’, everyone in the hall took to the floor as they sang along with him. His performance that night reaffirmed his place as a reggae legend.
Despite missing the stage for a long time, Majek who waltzed his way into the hearts of music fans in the late  80s and early 90s with his debut album  “Prisoner of Conscience” containing the hit track ‘Send Down The Rain’ released in 1987, still retains his stagecraft, vocal dexterity and followership. Standing ovation however greeted his ‘unexpected’  performance even as he hinted that his latest album is due to be released soon.
Meanwhile, the event was organised to honour  musicians, songwriters and composers who had written and sung great songs from 1960s till date. Victor Uwaifo’s “Joromi,” was chosen as the best song of the 1960s while Prince Nico Mbarga’s “Sweet Mother” won the 1970s category.
While Femi Kuti’s “Wonder Wonder” emerged the best song of the 1990s, for the new millennium (2000), Kehinde Akinbode’s “Olorioko” was awarded the best contemporary Afro song. The  contemporary pop song was awarded to Tu Face Idibia with “African Queen.”
Sunny Nneji won contemporary highlife category with “Oruka.” Idibia won contemporary afro with “Iheneme,” while Psquare were honoured for their hit song “Chop My Money” and the best song for contemporary highlife of the new era was awarded to Jude Okoye for “Baby Oku.”The award ceremony was part of activities marking the COSON week.

[PHOTO & VIDEO] Video of Ghanaian Akwasi Asare, aka ‘Festival’ who makes money by uploading sexX videos of female partners on the internet..

KumasiAtopaDoctorandStudentghanaleak_1

The video recording, which was making the rounds in the Ashanti Regional capital, had caused consternation among parents and showed the girl and her partner dressing up after the session.A Senior High School student in Kumasi has been captured on a video recording receiving an amount of GH¢20 after a bout of sex with a 22-year-old man at a hideout in the Garden City.
The one-hour-thirty-minutes sexual encounter had Kwame Asare aka ‘Festival,’ believed to be an SHS leaver, engaged in sexual intercourse with the school girl.
Action
On the tape, Asare and the young girl, believed to be in her teens, got undressed soon after entering a room, and started what seemed to be an enjoyable sexual expedition.
Asare, whose manhood was unusually long, was seen bonking the girl at different postures until the young girl started telling him she was tired and could not continue any longer.
In Police Grips
Festival, now in police grips, was suspected to be part of a five-man gang that lured young girls into a rented room at Kokoso near Kumasi where they bonked these girls and record the sexual activity on video tape for commercial purposes on the internet.
The Police arrested Asare at the Kumasi suburb of Adum based on an investigation undertaken by William Kwame Anokye of New Mercury FM, a local radio station.
Anokye said he tracked Festival and his group of five, made up of boys below 23, for close to three months before getting hold of some of their recorded sexual bouts on tape.
He then reported their activities to the police, with the subsequent arrest of Festival, now in Prison custody in Kumasi.
Anokye told DAILY GUIDE that Festival and his group sold 30 minutes of every recorded sexual bout to their partners abroad for US $10,000. Their partners would then post the film on their website for the public to watch across the world.
Haggle over cash
He said the group had been in the illicit business for some time now until a misunderstanding over how money generated from a previous sale should be shared among them.
One of the members who thought he had been cheated in the sharing of the money eventually reported his group’s illegal activities to Anokye.
The New Mercury FM reporter eventually got hold of a recorded sexual act involving Asare and the SHS girl.
He said he visited the Assemblies of God SHS where he showed the recorded sexual act to the headmaster of the school who admitted that indeed, the girl on the tape was a final year student of the school.
Game Plan
The girl’s parents were then informed about the incident by the school’s authorities and a plan was hatched to apprehend those behind it.
Anokye said the girl on the tape was made to call Asare on phone pretending she wanted to meet him again. Asare then told the girl where he was and the Police quickly moved in to arrest him.
Website
The suspect, with his accomplices now at large, according to reports, usually sold the recorded sexual bout to a website abroad for thousands of US Dollars, unknown to the young girls.

The suspect seemed to have a connection with the Bekwai sex scandal which made the headlines two years ago.

Wife Catches Husband Red-Handed Sleeping With Their Housegirl

1 A Wife Caught Housegirl With Husband
A wife who has been hearing stories around that her husband was enjoying himself with their house maid got the shock of her life recently as she caught them red handed after setting a trap for the two secret lovers.
The source who sent the story to TON said the wife pretend that she was going to her shop and sent the the maid in her husband’s presence to go to the market and buy foodstuff. The maid took the money and immediately her husband got up and walked out, saying he’s taking a walk…
The woman drove out of the compound with the maid and dropped her at the junction where she would take a bike to the market. She sighted her husband hiding at a corner but pretended she didn’t see him. She drove away, parked her car about 200 meters away and walked back to the house.
She entered their sitting room, nothing. Her husband’s bedroom, nothing. Their kids room, nothing. It then dawned on her that her shameless husband might be doing the “thing” at the house maid’s room. True to her suspicion, the wife caught her husband “very busy” on top the maid.
Funny enough, sources say the wife has discovered that the young girl is already pregnant for her husband and the man is now saying he will marry her as his second wife. The wife is devastated!
The incident was said to have happened in a Lagos suburb but the woman’s husband is a rich guy.

Zimbabwean Big Brother Africa Rep, Pokello,Sex Tape Leaks (SEE PHOTOS)

This is a warning for ladies, she is in the big brother Africa house and her boyfriend did the unspeakeable, he leaks their private video online!!...See photos below:

One of the housemates representing Zimbabwe in the ongoing BBA – The Chase, Pokello Nare has been hit by a sex tape scandal a few days after she entered the BBA house.

According to Peacefmonline.com investigations, the said sex tape was acted and recorded by Pokello and her boyfriend Desmond Chideme also known as Stunner who is popular urban grooves artiste.

Stunner is famous for his role in a leaked sex tape in which he had sex with his socialite girlfriend Pokello Nare. In the video, he is seen having sex without protection with the girl that he is not married to. The ‘Godo’ hit maker also went public as he got circumcised in a bid to promote education on HIV/AIDS and how to prevent the Aids scourge.

Apparently the sex tape was reportedly shot at his Avondale home with his girlfriend Pokello Nare. Desmond Chideme is his actual name and he’s a “Zimbabwean urban groover” – probably why we can’t find the tape because it would be hosted on a foreign site and written in another language – if popularity arises then we will seek further for the tape.

Harare-born Pokello has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media and Communications and owns a luxury shoe boutique. She enjoys pasta, spaghetti bolognaise and prawn cocktail.

She describes herself as “dynamic, captivating, intelligent, beautiful & hilarious” and says that the best thing about her is that she’s head-strong and a woman of real substance. “When I speak, I speak with depth and confidence,” she says. She admires people who are selfless and filled with humility and modesty, disliking disloyalty and betrayal.

Asked what viewers can expect from her, she says: “I am beautiful, intelligent, controlling and entertaining. I am funny and witty and I say the most humorous things.

Pokello says if she wins the USD 300 000, she’ll buy a big house for her son and herself, send him to a full-time soccer academy in London and invest in her business.

Train Derails In Lagos

train derails
A section of a train returning from Ijoko in Lagos State to its base at Eb*tte Metta, Lagos on Wednesday derailed at Agege, in an incident said to have been caused by defective tracks.
As of 11am on Wednesday, the scene of the accident had been cordoned off by policemen from the Railway police.
An employee of the National Railway Corporation who spoke to PUNCH on the condition of anonymity said that the driver of the locomotive also shared the blame in the accident.
“The rails were not aligned properly; there was a gap between them which ought not to be. It so happened that the driver who was driving the locomotive, was moving at a high speed. When he ran into the improperly laid rails, the locomotive was thrown off the rails.
“Although the driver was hurt, the injuries are not life threatening. The accident could have been avoide d though if he wasn’t speeding. Both the driver and those responsible for laying the tracks, will be sanctioned,” he said.
Confirming the accident, spokesperson for the NRC in Lagos, Mr. Adekanbi, said the cause of the accident was unknown.
“I am not at the scene right now so I cannot tell you if the cause of the accident were the rails. We have our own methods of handling such situations.
“At the moment, all we are doing is trying to get the locomotive back on the rails so that it can be moved away. The cause of the accident is unknown, but the driver is unhurt.
“It is when we are able to get the locomotive back on the rails that we can say what caused the accident. However, it is a minor accident,” Adekanbi said.

Actress Halima Abubakar Says Igbo People Are Killing Nollywood With Tribalism

Work-pics1169
One actress who really struggled for several years in Nollywood before she eventually got her big break is Halima Abubakar. She saw the challenges, faced them and eventually conquered.
But  Halima Abubakar said it no longer easy for up and coming actresses who are gifted but are not being allowed to prove themselves in the industry due to the high level tribalism of the Igbos who control the industry and are now making themselves lord over others. See her complains below…
“I have experienced tribalism, I know people would say it is a lie, but that is the truth. Why have those from a particular group not reached out to people who are not specifically from their areas?
“I have worked with a lot of Igbos, my marketer is Igbo, I have worked with a lot of them and I know those I have not worked with, I have not seen the right roles for me yet, but I believe they will come.
“But how about others, who are independently shooting movies, does that mean those are the only set of actors in Nollywood? I am not saying they should give me roles, but there are people who want to see fresh faces. We need to give others opportunity to showcase their talents.
“I am saying, stop tribalism and bring everyone under the umbrella of AGN,”  Halima Abubakar insisted.

47 Youths Arrested, 8 Policcemen Hospitalised In Ondo Crisis

ondo
Eight policemen deployed to quell the uprising that erupted in Ile Oluji area of Ondo State over the desperate plan by some youths to eject the traditional ruler, Oba Suulade Adedugbe from the palace who were critically wounded have been referred to the Obafemi Awolowo Teaching Hospital in Ile Ife for medical attention.
The policemen were alleged to have been shot by the violent youths who invaded the Oba’s palace.
Police have arrested 47 persons in connection with the crisis, while the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, of Ile Oluji is also said to be hospitalised following the injury he sustained while trying to quell the crisis.
This is coming as the state government yesterday set up a judicial commission of enquiry to probe the violence that led to the death of three persons.
According to the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Dr. Rotimi Adelola, the Judicial Commission of Inquiry is to look into the recent disturbances and crises in Ile Oluji/Oke Igbo Local Government of Ondo State, especially the disturbance of May 27 and 28, 2013 and/or any similar disturbance in Ile Oluji.
The commission has Justice Nelson Adeyanju as Chairman, Mr. Ajose Kudehinbu, Chief Olugbenga Ale as members and Mr. Fredrick Oye as Secretary
The Judicial Commission of Inquiry is to “recommend appropriate sanction, take stock of the losses or damages occasioned during the crises, make appropriate recommendations to government on the subject of the terms of references or any other matter connected with the crises.”
The Commission of Inquiry which has 14 days to submit its findings is to be inaugurated today, at the Cocoa Conference Hall of the Governor’s Office.
Also, the governor, Dr Mimiko yesterday, at a Democracy Day lecture said the crisis in Ile Oluji has some undertone and has nothing to do with the citing of a Federal institution in the area.
He confirmed that a policeman who was shot by the youths was operated upon at OAUTH in Ile Ife, yesterday.
Meantime, soldiers from the 323 Artillery Regiment in the state have been deployed to the troubled town to compliment the efforts of the policemen.
Also, the palace of the Oba was said to have been vandalised by the irate youths.
There was partial curfew in the town yesterday as both commercial and social activities were completely paralysed following the violence in the town.
Police sources said that the youths picked up have started fingering their sponsors and are being detained at the state SIIB in Akure.
Reports said that the Oba has returned to the palace and he is under police protective custody.
The Ondo State Government in a statement on the crisis signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Eni Akinsola, said there was no truth about a Polytechnic in Ile Oluji as rumoured by some people in the community, a rumour that resulted into a violent protest in the week.
Akinsola said: “The state is not contemplating a new polytechnic now as it is busy repositioning its two universities in Okitipupa and Akungba and the polytechnic in Owo.
“We have also found out that the federal government has also not decided on citing any higher institution in the state now. We are therefore shocked to hear that the crisis is linked to a rumoured location of a polytechnic to and away from the town.”
